Flyers all alone in first place with OT loss

Flyers lose in shoot-out to the Kings 2-1

Hartnell09MVP2.jpg

Scott Hartnell's 15th goal gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead. He was +1 and had 2 hits in almost 23 minutes of ice time Saturday night in LA.

The banged up, travel weary Flyers managed to get a point out of Los Angeles Saturday night, but should have won the game. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick played extremely well and had some luck too. Scott Hartnell scored the Flyers first goal, and later missed a penalty shot. Antero Niittymaki played very well too, stopping 30 shots, allowing a power play goal. Joffrey Lupul, Claude Giroux and Josh Gratton were all injured in the Ducks game and did not play Saturday night. Gratton dressed and sat on the bench.

Nittymaki was steller stopping 30 shots against the Kings on Saturday night.

It wil be interesting to see.  I see the Rangers fading and the Flyers and Pens fighting it out, finishing in the regular season behind the Bruins and maybe the Penguins in the conference.  And of course, winning the Stanley Cup playoffs.
