     Zac Rinaldo finished 28th (with 209) in hits in the NHL, despite playing in only 58 games.  He was 7th in hits per game.  Brayden Schenn was 38th and Luke Schenn was 40th.

    Jakub Voracek had a great season, finishing 4 among scoring leaders (tied with Ovechkin) and second in assist.

Flyers fall in finale, Senators clinch playoff spot with 3-1 win in Philly
    Steve Mason took the loss on Saturday.  Despite his (and the team's) poor away record, Steve finished 3rd in save % and 7th in goals against average among NHL goaltenders.  He finished the season 18-18-11 with 3 shut-outs.
      Mark Streit had 2 blocked shots in 23 minutes of ice time against the Senators in the season finale.

Not overwhelming, but interesting.
    Chris Vande Velde won the annual most improved Flyers team award.  He played in 72 games and had 9 goals and 6 assist.  
       The Flyers had the better of play and shots on goal in the early play, but the Senators counter-punched their way into the playoffs with another stellar 
performances with their rookie phenoms.  Goaltender Andrew Hammond came out of nowhere to finish the season with a 20-1-2 record, and Mark Stone scored 25 goals.  
        Matt Read scored the loan goal for the Flyers, and Steve Mason worked the last game for the home team. Jason Akeson was a Phantoms call up and played his first NHL game since the beginning of the season.
       The Flyers announced their team awards before the game.  Mark Streit won 2, the Barry Ashbee (best defensemen) and the Yanick Dupre(Class Guy/ Character).  Chris Vandevelde won the Pelle Lindbergh Award(most improved player) and Jakub Voracek won the Gene Hart award (Player with the most Heart) and the Bobby Clarke award (Team MVP).  Claude Giroux won the Toyota Cup award (player with the most accumulated points from the "Star of the Game" voting.

     I have always wanted to make this trip, and most of the time it was over Christmas.  So yes, I am flying to Vancouver on Monday, chatching the game on Tuesday night.  Flying to Calgary on Wednesday, catching the game on Thursday.  Renting a car, and then driving to Edmonton for Saturday nights game.
